East Coast Wado Karate Club
Martial Arts Club serving Sackville, Bedford and Hammonds Plains, NS
The East Coast Wado Karate Club was established in 2004 out of the Sackville Sports Stadium. Sensei Kevin Jones has been our Chief Instructor since 2007. We are located at 266 Lakeview Avenue in Middle Sackville and have many members from the surrounding areas of Bedford and Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.
Wado-Ryu is a style of karate-do with roots derived from the blend of traditional Japanese karate and Jiu-jitsu. Evasion techniques consist of moves that avoid being hit when possible, but still maintain balance and strike back efficiently.
In the twelve years since the martial arts club was formed, we've strived to teach the pure Wado techniques as given by both Suzuki Sensei and Ohtuska Sensei. We are very proud of the family atmosphere that has been created by both the instructors and the students.
East Coast Wado has students who compete at the Provincial, National and International levels. Our members have been executives of both Karate Nova Scotia and WIKF Canada.
